I never claimed to be breaking new ground or anything like that. That was the beauty of the episode and the power of the song. And that by everyone playing the song in their own style they could travel to the “Heavy Metal-esque” animation style world and also get special powers to defeat the evil creature. Getting back to the topic at hand, the whole point of the song if you remember the episode was that there were multiple covers in different musical styles by various artists like Cee-Lo, Fall Out Boy and Puffy Ami Yumi. But that’s another story for another time.

I’m not a professional musician by any means and I make music as an outlet mainly for my mental illness. I just wanted to stay true to the original version but yet incorporate atmospheric black metal stylings and techniques into the instrumentation and vocals. But you can’t please everybody and I do understand how you may find it a bit generic as far as covers go. I was hoping to just brighten some people’s day with a cover of a song that makes me smile and reminds me of better times. I am sorry you found my song to be disappointing. I’m always looking to improve my music and I’m open to hearing about how other people interpret music. I do feel it was a bit non constructive though and I wish you could have been a little more specific and constructive rather than sounding like you simply have extremely specific musical tastes that only a small handful of bands can meet the criteria of and everything else is generic to you. You either like it or you don’t and I have to respect your opinion.

I’m going to edit my original response because I feel I was a bit disrespectful and snappy in my original response due to having just been informed two of my good friends have covid19 and are extremely sick and I read your comment moments after I got that news so I took your comment a bit more personal than I should have and may have come across as someone who can’t take criticism well so I felt I should clarify my original comments as I made them heatedly and quickly in a state of irrational anger without really focusing on my true intent in replying.
